A temporary series is a project exploring identity through self-portraiture, repetition and print. Inspired by the placement of iconography found in Greek Orthodox churches, this installation was published alongside my photographic series documenting churches in Cyprus. The two projects were part of a book titled interior/exterior. The exterior is multiple facades of church buildings, and the interior is the installation resembling the inside of a church and its iconography of Saints. The portrait used was inspired by Frieda Kahlo's side gaze throughout her self-portraiture. Cypriot traditional superstition says that there have been sightings of icons in churches blinking, responding to this I put emphasis on my eyes.
