The old church of Agios Panteleimonas, in Old Choletria village in Paphos, Cyprus has been demolished and abandoned since July 1974 due to bad construction. This project has been ongoing since September 2023, and it is a site-specific response to the missing dome of the church. The Greek Orthodox church varies in shape and size, but its one distinct feature is its dome. This installation resembles what the church and people of the village lost, by researching the structure and the site of what used to be an operating church for the people of Old Choletria. This piece exists in two site-specific works - the installation made of fabric and its metal structure, visually inspired by Phytitiko weaving originating from the village of Phyti in Paphos, Cyprus. The paths are paved using stones, signifying and emphasising the paths seen on the site, to conceptually tell the story of those who entered and exited the church. The day it collapsed the priest was in the church, and as he stepped outside, the dome fell behind him. This project tells the story of the church of Agios Panteleimonas.
